 Senior Java Consultant

Responsibilities

• Design, coding, unit testing and maintain web based enterprise level programmes
• Perform implementation and system integration
• To perform coding for internal and external partners based on design specifications

Skill set

• These are the skills we all use on a day-to-day basis. We don’t need you to have years of experience in every aspect (but it’s great if you do!), just a good grounding and some practical exposure

Essential skills
 

• Java web application development using the Spring, Struts2, Spring MVC or JSF framework.
• HTML, CSS, JavaScript and AJAX
• SQL, JDBC and RDBMS, particularly Oracle and/or MYSQL
• Object-Relational Mapping, particularly Hibernate.
• XML and Web Services (WSDL, XSD, SOAP and HTTP)
• Application Servers are: Tomcat, Jetty, JBoss
• Experience with reporting platforms, especially JasperReports
• Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum.
• Subversion, GIT
• Clean code and follow standard convention
• Maven

Nice to have skills
 

• System engineering – Deploying and setting up environment: Linux
• jQuery, Twitter Bootstrap
• DB2, MSSQL
• RESTful
• Weblogic, WebSphere
• Unit testing - TestNG, JUnit
• Performance Debugging and Testing – JMeter
